چکیده

---------------------------------------------------------------------***----------------------------------------------------------------Abstract –Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)is the promising candidate of a multiple carrier modulation technique because it does not require equalizers. OFDM is robust in adverse channel conditions and allows a high level of spectral efficiency. It effectively mitigates performance degradations due to multipath and is capable of combating deep fades in part of the spectrum. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an emerging multi-carrier modulation scheme, which has been adopted for several wireless standards such as IEEE 802.11a and HiperLAN2.In this paper, the comparison between other carriertechniques like single carrier transmission, multi carrier transmission, conventional multi carrier technique, CDMA, TDMA, FDMA. The wireless communication broadcasting, WLAN, WMAN who are implemented OFDM are detailedand compared here. The advantages and disadvantages of OFDM are discussed in this paper.

Reduction of PAPR of OFDM Signal by SLM and Clipping Techniques Using RS Codes

Multicarrier modulations have become broadened and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has been widely implemented in high speed digital modulations. OFDM is a multicarrier transmission technique which divides the available spectrum into many carriers, each one being modulated by a low rate data stream. One major disadvantages of OFDM is that the time domain OFDM signal which is a...

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing and Multicarrier Communications: An Overview, Issues and Knowledge Gaps

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a form of multicarrier transmission, in which a high-rate data stream is transmitted in a parallel manner over a number of low-rate orthogonal subcarriers. Thanks to advances in VLSI technology, high-speed, high-order FFT/IFFT chips which implement OFDM modulation have become commercially viable, thus making OFDM a candidate for many commerci...
